Turn a sale into a broadcast: hours of live selling, new launches and guest creators, with ads pushing viewers into the stream.
In June 2024 Made by Mitchell, the UK beauty brand, ran a 12-hour TikTok Shop LIVE for its Summer Sale, with eight product launches and guest creators joining the stream. It hit $1 million in sales in 24 hours, $830,000 of it during the live itself, and was reported as the first brand in the UK to hit $1 million in one day on TikTok Shop (ChannelX, 26 June 2024).
E-commerce and consumer brands with a range worth demonstrating, a host who can sell on camera, and an audience on TikTok.
A live stream compresses a launch, a sale and a demonstration into one event with a clock on it. Viewers ask questions and buy without leaving the app, and guest creators bring their audiences into the room.
Where TikTok Shop does not operate, the paid side still works. Al Gharbi Store in Saudi Arabia ran Spark Ads and Smart+ Web campaigns for Saudi National Day and reported more than 10,000 conversions against a target of 600 sales, at a return on ad spend of about 12 (TikTok case study).
Reported. Made by Mitchell's figures from trade press (ChannelX, June 2024). Vendor. Al Gharbi Store's figures from a TikTok case study.
Cost to test. Ad spend for the event plus creator fees. A first test can be a three-hour live with one guest.
Kill it if two live events in a row return less in sales than their ad and creator costs.
TikTok Shop operates in a limited list of countries and not yet in the Gulf, where Saudi Arabia is reported for early 2027 but unconfirmed by TikTok, so check yours. Without it, send viewers to your site or WhatsApp and expect fewer sales per viewer. Live needs a host who can sell for hours: a nervous founder on camera for 12 hours costs more than they earn.
